- Harold Hardrada Invades!
- HE SHALL NOT TAKE THE UK! IT IS MINE!
- Harold Godwinson marches north to fight Harald Hardrada.
- We will obviously win.
- Harald Hardrada makes mistakes
- We forgot our armor…
- It is fine lets just rest…
- Harald Hardrada invaded the UK because he was furious that because Harold Godwinson had been crowned King instead of him. Hardrada had invaded England from Norway. Hardrada invaded with 300 ships!
- Battle on the bridge!
- As soon as Godwinson heard that Hardrada was invading, he immediately started marching north. He gathered his army while marching north. He gathered 2 different types of soldiers: Housecarls and Fyrds. A housecarl Is the best kind of soldier there was in England they were well-paid and well trained. The fear were soldiers that were there to make the army larger and better but they weren’t well trained. In total Godwinson had marched more than 180 miles.
- Harold Hardrada dies!
- Hardrada had made 2 mistakes. The first mistake was that he left all of his and his armies armor on the ship, the second one was that him and his army had split up to rest. This was really important because you need your armor to fight in a war or you are going to lose and you’re stronger together.
- Celebrations are cut short…
- Another war?!
- JUST GREAT…
- The English army had just arrived to the bridge. They were in shock when there was an axeman waiting for them. The axeman Was preventing them from crossing the bridge. He swung his axe back and forth, left and right while the English army fought back even though they had marched over 180 miles! In the end Godwinson’s army had killed the axeman and crossed the bridge. The war had started…
- Godwinson and Hardrada had started to fight.There were swords everywhere. Arrows coming from all angles. Soldiers dying from both armies. Suddenly an arrow went right through Hardrada’s throat that killed him…
- YAY!
- AHHHH!
- The English Army started to march back to their home to celebrate their victory. Whilst marching back they had to cut celebration short because William Duke of Normandy had started to invade from the south. Despite their loss of soldiers and energy, they once again were going to war.
