  • The 1st Continental Congress
  • I say we continue to buy up British products. The Boston Tea Party had nothing to do with the other colonies, and it's the patriots were asking for punishment when they decided to dump those 90,000 pounds of tea into the harbor!
  • Well, it's our sister colony that's being mistreated. If one of us is going down, we all go down for we're all Americans! I say that we shall boycott our mother country's goods!
  • The Battles of Lexington & Concord
  • It's our property, and we have the right to protect it!
  • How dare you hide guns and ammunition from us! You are under our rule! This is treason!
  • The 2nd Continental Congress
  • Yes that may be so, but why should we work together now when we have no relation? Plus, we're going against the British. We should stay loyal to them!
  • A mixed army will help to benefit all the colonies by making us stronger! We will be able to take on anything with such a large group of soldiers.
  • The 1st Continental Congress occurred in Philadelphia in September 1774, with around 50 leaders from 12 colonies. During the congress, the leaders discussed about being an American and not a representative of just their colony, while also going over boycotting of British goods until a response was gotten from their message to King George.
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord occurred on April 18th-19th, 1775, and was a set of conflicts between the American colonists and British soldiers who were sent to Concord by King George III. On the night of April 18th, General Gage of the British troops found out from a spy that the colonists were hiding lots of gunpower and weapons, so he sent 700 troops to march to Concord at night as to not be seen. Paul Revere, a colonist, found out about the sending of troops and warned everyone in the countryside. In Lexington, a town on the way to Concord, a small militia had gathered and was prepared to hold of the British. Although it’s unknown where it came from, a shot was heard at the scene, causing the British troops to shoot at and eventually kill or wound the Militia. This became known as the Battle of Lexington. Eventually the British made their way to Concord where there were unable to find the gunpowder and weapons. When seen, American Captain Isaac Davis was shot through the heart. The colonists from there were able to drive off, or kill the British troops. This became known as the Battle of Concord.
  • The 2nd Continental Congress occurred in Philadelphia on May 10th, 1775. In this meeting, leaders from the previous Continental Congress talked on making a continental army with soldiers from all the colonies mixed into one, and concluded that a new commander was needed. This new commander elected was George Washington who’d shown his leading traits during the French and Indian War.
