- Origin of Halloween
- We must celebrate all the saints on November 1st!
- Great idea Saint Odilo! This shall be held on November 2nd!
- Hey what about the saints that died! We must celebrate them as well!
- The people of Ireland also need to celebrate all those who died too who are in Hell! On All Hallows Eve, we will bang pots and pans to prove that we remember them so they don't cause trouble to us.
- The custom of dressing up started from the French in 14/15th century. The French would dress up on All Souls Day (from the concern of the afterlife partially started from the Black Death). Art was another way to remember those in the afterlife
- "Trick or Treat" was a term that started by the English in the 15-1700's. A Catholic uprising started from the unfair treatment they received. A plan to blow up King James I failed and Guy Fawkes was arrested. It became an English tradition to put on a mask and go to Catholics demanding treats, which began the era of "Trick or Treat"
- Around the time of the American Revolution, my American people have heard of all of these foreign traditions people celebrated around the world. We decided to be apart of the fun by using the French/Irish idea by dressing up on October 31st. America also liked the idea of trick or treating but allowed all people to participate! To this day, people from across the globe celebrate this fun holiday!
