  • ...Maybe? But why do you look like a ghost?
  • Not to break the fourth wall, but this was the closest image they could find for an angel. So just use your imagination!

  • Okay! That seems plausible enough. So why are there so many acronyms? Is it just more education mumbo-jumbo???
  • Not at all! Think of it like this, there are three kinds of knowledge at play here: content, pedagogical, and technological knowledge.
  • That explains some of them.. what about the longer ones?
  • Well, that's when the different kinds of knowledge overlap! Like yesterday when you made a Kahoot reviewing different vocabulary for your test. That was a great example of Technological Content Knowledge (TCK)!

  • Don't get ahead of yourself. Some of this will sound familiar, but that's important.
  • So some of it is what I already do as a teacher? So I don't need to learn any of this!
  • Well, if you are already doing some of this, then you can reflect on it. But you'll still find there's more for you to learn!

  • I guess that's true. I still don't know what TPCAST means...
  • That's the spirit! Let's start by thinking about it as the center of a diagram. It's where content, pedagogy, and technology all connect.

  • Well it means you understand what students need to learn about your [content], how to to teach them creatively [pedagogy], and how you use technology to present your content and help students access it.
  • Okay... so TPACK is when they all connect. What does that mean?
  • That's starting to make sense. What about my Kahoot? How could that be TPACK?
  • You're off to a good start because it's the content students need to know. But how are you making sure they're accessing the information, and the technology is helping them understand it?
  • I guess I could review the difficult questions with them. Or maybe use a review mode to help them practice better?
