- Eckels, an adventurer, arrives at Time Safari Inc. He meets Travis who will help him kill a dinosaur, but is not promised to come back alive. Travis, Eckels, and some other men will go into a time machine and go back in time.
- Exposition
- I'm ready to kill a dinosaur.
- The problem is that Travis tells Eckels that he must only kill the dinosaur that is marked and must not step off the path. Eckels does not seem to understand.
- Conflict
- Ok
- You must follow these very strict rules, or else we will get into some very serious trouble.
- Eckels, Travis, and some other men finally arrive to a time before Jesus. They're all told the rules they must follow, Eckels still doesn't seem to understand. They begin their expedition along the designated path.
- Rising Action
- Please follow these strict rules, and let's begin our journey.

- Eckels and Travis come across the dinosaur they planned to kill. Eckels freaks out and runs off the path, as Travis is left to kill the dinosaur
- Climax
- DON'T STEP OFF THE PATH
- Falling Action
- They return back to the modern day, but everything is different. Eckels had stepped on a butterfly when he stepped off the path, which caused the whole world to change. Travis is very angry
- I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT!
- Eckels trys to find out if there is a way to fix the problem. Instead Travis decides to shoot Eckels.
