- Lizabeth's mother had passed and she and her brother were going through a tough time. Coming home one day, she and her brother got in an argument, and he went up stairs and stormed through her room. Although not meaning it, he bumped into the wall, and her favorite glass painting came crashing to the floor. It was the very first one she had made and it took her many years to perfect. She knew her brother was going through a rough time just like her, and it reminded her of when she destroyed something valuable of Miss Lottie back when times were always tough in her hometown.

- Miss Lottie?
- "I'm sure you might not remember me, but I'm Lizabeth. I was the girl who destroyed your marigolds. I've come here to come to ask for you forgiveness for such a terrible act. I did not understand what they meant to you, and how much you cared for them. Growing up, everything was ugly and plain, and your marigolds disturbed the perfect ugliness of everything around me. I could not stand them because I didn't know how to appreciate them the way you did, but now I do. I have also lost something dear to me which I too worked hard for. I hope that you can forgive me and I can make it up to you."

- "We all make mistakes. Thank you for apologizing, and one matures and grows with time. I forgive you, and this is more than making it up to me."

- Lizabeth wanted to make it up to Miss Lottie, so she bought flowers and planted them in Miss Lottie's back yard. They spent the whole afternoon arranging and cultivating the flowers. Miss Lottie was very grateful, and both reconciled while talking and planting the flowers.
