- The Sun is like a flower that shines for just one hour
- No! Your lying! You don't remember!
- That's wonderful Margot! Did you write it yourself?
- It's all a joke!
- It's happening!
- No! The scientists said it was today!
- The students live on Venus, where it rains for seven years before only an hour of sunlight. Margot sits away from the group. She hardly speaks, and so the other students hardly speak to her.
- It's all a joke!
- Let me out! Let me out!
- Margot reads a poem about the sun that she wrote. William doesn't believe she remembers the sun. All the other students were born on Venus and don't remember the last time the sun came out. But Margot was born on Earth, so she remembers.
- The rain begins to thin, all the students know its happening. William is telling Marot that its all a joke, that the sun won't come out. Since she misses the sun so much, Margot is very upset.
- Sniffle
- To tease her, William and the others lock Margot in a closet. The children walk away, leaving Marot stuck in the dark closet.
- While the other students are away, the rain stops entirely, and the sun comes out. All the children rush out into the sun for the first time they can remember. In all the excitement, they forget to let Margot out.
- Only after the sun goes away again do they remember Margot is still in the closet. Very slowly they return to the hallway, and even slower, open the door.
