- In the story La Bamba a boy named Manuel signed up for the talent show. He was so nervous and only thinking about the things that could go wrong. When he performed his disc got stuck and repeated the same words over and over again. Finally his teacher ripped out the needle then he bowed and walked off the stage. After everyone thought it was a comedy act.
- Manuel signed up for the talent show. He did it because he wanted to impress the second prettiest girl in the class.
- Manuel had a practice for the talent show. Manuel asked his friend Benny "How did I do?" Benny said "I suggest you dance like Michael Jackson while you sing." Manuel listened to the great suggestion.
- Manuel was almost up to perform and he was thinking of all the things that could go wrong and all of the bad performances . It was Manuel's turn, he walked on the stage and started to perform. The disc got stuck and the same words "para bailar la bamba" were repeated over and over again.
- Manuel was so embarrassed. Finally his teacher ripped out the needle out and and he walked off the stage. When he was walking out people were talking about it like it was a comedy act. They asked him "How did you get the needle to stick?" He said "I don't know."

- When it was all finally over and Manuel got into bed that night he thought, when they ask for volunteers next year I will probably not be raising my hand!
