Maddison's Lie is a parable much like "the Prodigal Son" . It shows the unconditional love of that parents have for their children, and more importantly the main message of the prodigal son. Which is forgiveness.

- Kayla, I cant believe it! I got a 38% on my math test. My parents are going to be so upset with me!

- Maddison tells her best friend Kayla about her failed test. Coincidentally Kayla also received a bad mark. They both don't want to show their parents, so Kayla tells Maddison a way to hand in the test signed, without showing her parents.
- How? Mrs. Collin's said we have to get it signed.
- We copy our parent's signature of course. I've done it before it's not difficult.
- I got a bad mark too! I have an idea, what if we don't show our parents.

- Hi Mrs Evans!

- Maddison brings Kayla to her house. They plan to forge their parents signatures, to get out of showing their bad grade. Yet in doing so they add to the deception when Maddison lies to her parents, and tells them they never even received the tests back.

- Hi mom, school was good, but we have homework, so we will be in my room if you need us.
- Our teacher hasn't given them back yet.
- Have fun! Oh wait before you go, did you guys get your math test back yet?
- Hello girls, How was school?
- Okay, let me know when you need it signed.
- The teens forge there parents signature. Maddison inquires if the signature is believable and has a moment of doubt, before Kayla convinces her that Mrs. Collins wont notice.
- Okay, I'll hand it in tomorrow!
- Do you think this looks believable?

- Of course! I've done this loads of times, Mrs. Collin's doesn't notice a thing.

- Maddison finalizes the lie when she hands the test with the falsified signature in to Mrs. Collins.

- I'm really sorry mom, I got the test back and Mrs. Collins said she was disappointed. I didn't even was to imagine how you would feel.
- Mrs. Evans gets a call form Mrs. Collins about Maddison's test. She finds out not only that Maddison failed the test, but also forged her signature. This causes a heated argument to occur between Maddison and her mother.
- How did she find out you didn't sign it?
- Maddison Evans! Do you want to explain to me why I just got a call from Mrs. Evans saying you failed a math test! Not only that but you forged my signature!
- She called to let me know that she wants to help you get back on track again. She didn't know you copied my signature, but I know I never signed a failed test. So explain!
- I have to tell your father about this.
- Mom, dad. I'm really sorry. I never meant to do this. I just didn't want to disappoint you.
- It was Kayla's idea, but it was my fault for acting on it when I knew it was wrong.
- Okay mom, I understand and ill do the dishes. Thank you for you forgiveness
- Maddison faces the consequences of her actions, as her parents decide that she should do dishes for a month. She accepts that what she did was wrong, and her parents forgive her.
- I know and I love you both too.
- But, that doesn't mean your off the hook. Your doing dishes for a month.
- We are very disappointed in you Maddison!
- Whos idea was it to forge signatures? Cause the Maddison I know would never have done this.
- We know your sorry, and that's why we can forgive you.
- Just so you know, we will always love you know matter what.
