  • Mitosis is a type of asexual reproduction in which many organisms like bacteria use to divide into identical offspring
  • Salutations! I am Mr.Cytology! Today I will be teaching you about the phases of Mitosis!
  • In my lab, I have prepared an elaborate model in which we can observe the phases of mitosis! So, Follow me!
  • Welcome to the microscopic world of cells! Right now we are observing the cell in the INTERPHASE. A very important stage in which it prepares the cell for nuclear division.
  • Here is Prophase the process in which cells start loosing their nucleus! The spindle fibers start to form and will help in moving CHROMSOMES that have been duplicated from interphase.
  • Metaphase is the process in which the chromosomes start to line up in the middle for separation. There must be an equal amount of chromosomes in each daughter cell or it can lead to genetic disorders so it is important to have this process in place.
  • Anaphase is the process in which the spindle fibers relegate (Or move) the chromosomes to the polar (opposite ends) sides of the cell. This is where a next major part of the mitosis!
  • At last! We are at the Telophase/Cytokines in which the nuclear membrane starts forming and the cells cytoplasm starts to divide into the two new identical daughter cells!
