(E) analyze the political, economic, and social impact of World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, and significant issues in the latter half of the 20th and early 21st centuries such as political and economic controversies, immigration, and migration on the history of Texas.

- What seems to be the matter dear?
- Are you okay father?
- They are laying off everyone in the company. The economy is failing.
- Mother and I were outside when father came home visibly upset.
- AHHHHH, I Didn't think of that!
- What are we going to do?
- Are we going to have enough food to feed the children?
- There was a high chance my father could lose his job.
- We will figure it out dear, we will make it work,
- The economy was failing, companies were laying off all of their workers, unable to pay them. What were we going to do?
- With my father no longer having a job, we had no money coming in to pay for food. We weren't really sure of what to do next.
- My parents needed time to think about what to do about the food and how they were going to still afford our house. With the new baby on the way, this was going to be difficult.
- After 10 long years of learning to garden, becoming the family seamstress, and helping mom find any food that would feed us, we managed to survive, dad got a new job working at a factory and my little brother helps him from time to time.
