- Martin, a thin twelve-year old who has just moved in into a new apartment with his dad was terrified of elevators because he was afraid that it would fall. They lived on the 17th floor and that was a problem because it was to tiring to take the stairs so the only option was the elevator. The elevator's atmosphere was baleful it had only one strip of light that was not that bright and was dirty on thewalls. It was very small and had a maximum capacity of 3 people.
- Full Shot
- One day coming home from school Martin stumbled upon a fat lady with a threadbare green coat. She had tiny, sharp, and blue eyes. Her face was squished and it gave her a piggish look. The lady was very big and since the elevator was small she took most of the space and Martin was squished in the corner. Martin was scared because the lady stared directly into his eyes. When she turned Martin made a sprint toward the lobby and almost ran until his school.

- After he came back from his sprint he thought of taking the stairs but he didn't because he could not be afraid of some lady so he took the elevator. When he hopped on the elevator it stopped on the third floor and guess who was waiting for Martin on the third floor the fat lady! It was a nightmare for Martin it was the fat lady again!

- When they got to the floor were he lived in he tried getting of but he could not reach the buttons because the lady was blocking him. For Martin to get off he rubbed against her coat and was able to squish out. The lady barely moved because there was no space for her. When Martin finally hoped off he felt relived and happy he did not have to be there anymore.
- The next morning the fat lady was already waiting for him on the elevator, but this time he backed away and took the stairs. Martin fell on the 15th floor that lead to the sixteenth so he only had to climb with the terrible pain for one floor. When he got there his dad took him to the hospital and he had a simple fracture.
- After Martin and his dad come back from the hospital, since he broke his leg they hop on the elevator and he is not worried because his dad is with him, but his dad then remembers something. His dad had promised Terry Ullman that he'd stop to visit. Martin was telling his dad that he could stay with him but his dad said no. When he came back to the elevator and went up to his floor the elevator stopped. Guess who was their waiting for him, the fat lady!
