- Thomas Hobbes believed that people are naturally born into anarchy. They chose a leader to control the chaos and give the leader absolute power. They only have the right to life. Hobbes believed people are naturally selfish, and they do not care about the rights of others. He believed that people needed a ruler to protect them. People gave up all personal freedoms in exchange for the protection of the group.
- As a French writer philosopher and historian Voltaire was famous for crissum Christianity. He believed in a social process that could be achieved through reasons and not through authority. In his life, he had a wife and 1 daughter along with a dog.
- Mary Wollstonecraft was one of the first advocates for women’s rights. She believed that women and men should be equal. Wollstonecraft argued that women should be able to go to school and learn, and they should be able to vote.
