- First scene

- Yes, of course I'm happy.(Page 8)
- Are you happy? (Page 7)
- Third scene
- It cant be happening like this all day long.
- Your the worst person I have ever met!
- This is scary.
- I hate you too!
- Clarisse and her mother are having a conversation about the subject, why books are banned and must they be burned? Clarisse's mother has already discussed about the topic yet Clarisse is still asking more questions, wondering more than one answer.
- Fourth scene
- You sound so very old.(Page 26)
- “Sometimes I’m ancient. I’m afraid of children my own age. They kill eachother." (Page 27)
- Montag and Clarisse are conversating as Clarisse rambles on other subjects. Clarisse then askes Montag if he was happy and that for the first time had made him think deeply, bothered by the fact he wasn't really happy.
- Fifth scene
- Its against the law.
- Clarisse is in a shock of fear as she sees the children paying in the school grounds murder each other. She is left out as the abnormal one seen by other kids.
- Sixth scene
- What type of question is that?
- Clarisse confesses that she fears the children in her school as she talks with Montag. Though he doesn't seem to be bothered by this.
- Did it always use to be that way? (Page 27)
- Clarisse watches the firemen set the house on fire. She observes the house slowly falling to ashes as it glowed a warm brightness in the night sky.
- All those books gone forever..
- Its worst than I thought it would be.

- Burn this down guys!!
- Montag and Clarisse are discussing about burning books. This will be the final conversation they will ever have as a speeding car will soon crash into her.
- Why do you burn books Mr. Montag?
