Confirmation is a sacrament that celebrates the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit on a baptized person, this event strengthens and completes the grace given by the Holy Spirit.
Today, I am here with my family and friends to celebrate this important milestone in my life!
Today is my confirmation! I am very excited to finally be able to confirm my faith and recieve all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit .
Symbols of Confirmation: - Laying on of hands: giving power and a blessing onto a person by placing both hands on that person’s head. In Confirmation, the bishop first performs this action by extending his hands over the whole group while praying for the spirit to guide the candidates. Hands are symbols of guidance, assistance and can be used to reach out to other people.- Anointing with the Chrism: symbolically commissions Christians to be Christ for others. The Chrism (or oil) is used to anoint the candidate and is symbolic of his her blessing by the Holy Spirit. Recalls the anointing with chrism at Baptism.
As part of my preperation for Confirmation, Ilearnt about the symbols and rituals of Confirmation!
The youth should want ot participate in this sacrament because it is beneficial both faithfully and personally.
