  • the roman general was Lucius Caecilius Metellus. He led the Romans through the 3 Punic wars and was successful through each one.
  • When Carthage decided to go to war with the Romans, there general was Hannibal. He did try to out smart the Romans in the second Punic war but the Romans figured out and decided to go to there city and wait for them to come.
  • In the first Punic war it was a navel battle. Carthage was better on the water while Rome was better on land. But Rome made this bridge to go to the top and connect to the other boats so that they could fight face to face which was Romes strength. Rome ended up winning this war and gaining the island of Sicily .
  • In the second Punic war Carthage tried to out smart Rome and camp up in the alps and try to attack when they were not looking, they brought elephants to help fight. The Romans ended up not coming out, but they ended up going to Carthage. The Carthaginian army was running trough farms and the farmers were fighting back which causes Carthage to lose some of there army. When it came to battle, Carthage was very week. Rome ended up winning the second Punic war and also gaining Sardinia, Corsica and a little bit of Spain. .
  • In the third Punic war also the last, was pushed on by the Roman politician Cato the Elder. In this war what happened was that the Romans burned down all of Carthage. The people that survived were put into to slavery. The Romans ended up taking over Carthage. 
  • As the final impact, Rome won all 3 wars and ended up gaining Sardinia ,Carthage, Spain, Corsica, and sicily
