We tested this using two types of problems convergent which means there is a known soulotion which you have to solve using analytical thinking. A divergent problem is no known soloution.

I taught him to associate an apple which is the unconditioned stimulus with my bark a conditioned stimulus. He naturally salivated at the sight of the apple which is the unconditioned response. But I taught him to ascociate the bark with the apple so he salivated from hearing the bark a conditioned response.
