  • Hello class, in today's lesson we will learn how to prevent fires and reduce the risk of fire-related injuries.

  • - Install a smoke alarm on every level of your house, Smoke alarms are devices that sound an alarm when smoke is detected. - Have at least one fire extinguisher in your home- Have a fire escape plan and have a meeting place
  • Having a fire escape plan in your home is necessary in case of an emergency. Every escape route should begin in a bedroom, + windows with a fire escape/ladder can save lives if flames, heart, or smoke block doors. Meeting places are also important so that everyone can know that everyone else is safe. It is recommended to pratice this escape route and plan every 6 months.
  • How to reduce the risk of fire-related injuries
  • A fire can start because of careless cooking habits, careless cigarette smoking, electrical overload/damaged electrical circuits and wiring, and improper storage of flammable materials. Flammable means items that are able to catch fire easily, some example of flammable items are: paint, old newspapers, and rags.
