- Justinian became emperor in 527. He was very hard-working and contributed a lot for his empire, with the help of his wife, Theodora.
- Corpus Juris CivilisJustinian created a set of laws for the Empire by by reviewing the old laws of the Roman Empire. The Justinian Code included laws on:-Marriage: Must get permission from parents, marriage in certain classes is forbidden.-Power of Parents: Your child is under your power, and the child of your son, but you don't have any power over your daughter's child, because your daughter's husband will have power over it. -Assault and Battery: An Injury in the Justinian Code is said to be "anything that is done without good reason." Including not only physical injuries but also emotional and mental injuries. The person who has been injured can choose to either civil remedy (financial penalty) or criminal indictment (judge sentence).
- Justinian had conquered almost the land land that was once the Roman Empire. He was known for building lots of new buildings for the community like hospitals, schools, aqueducts, and especially churches.
