- There! Now your hair is tied back and not flying everywhere!
- Here is this girl getting her hair done for a special occasion. She has decided that she wants her hair in a Dutch braid that goes into a ponytail. Her hair will be stretched into a braid and when taken out her hair will resume back to to her original shape.

- When the hair stylist was finishing up her braid she got ready to put her hair in a ponytail. When she was wrapping the band around her hair it got harder to stretch the hair tie since the band was tight. There was more tension everytime the band was twisted around her hair.

- Ohhh now I get it!
- If the stylist did not have her hair in a ponytail the girls hair would be down on her own because of gravity pulling on it. The girl was very proud of her new hairstyle and it was holding up great!

- Johnny just finished his baseball game and is extremely thirsty so he decides to get his soda from the refrigerator. Once he opens the fridge he feels a pop he has never noticed before. Almost like a force was holding the fridge shut.
- What the heck was that sound?!
- I'm really thirsty! This soda is going to taste great!
- What Johnny didn't realize was that there was a magnetic force holding the refrigerator shut. On the inside of the fridge, north magnets are lined up on one side and on the side south magnets are lined up. Just like humans, opposites attract so when a north and south magnet are aligned, they stick together.

- This pop also happens when Johnny closes the door because the magnets are attracted to each other. The fridge is an example of static friction, when closed the body of the fridge is responsible for keeping the door resting on top of it. This fridge is also staying in place on the floor not sliding.
