When a Mexican officer asked the people of Gonzales to give up their cannon, they refused and formed an army. About 160 colonists marched with their cannon with a white flag that said "come and get it!" This was the start of the Revolution, as Mexico took this as a sign of war, and even though it was a brief battle, it proved that the Mexican army could be beat
After a few more small battles, the Texans meet to decide if they should declare independence. Once again, there is a conflict of war or peace (SFA is supporting our own independence). Once they vote, peace is in favor, and they send out the "Declaration of the People in General Convention Assembled" where they pledge loyalty to Mexico. However, they still oppose Santa Anna
Santa Anna has come to fight against the Texans, and they meet at a convention to declare independence. They write complaints about Mexico and make the Texas Declaration of Independence as well as the Constitution. The Alamo falls a few days later, and it motivates Texans to keep fighting against Sanata Anna
