- In the beginning, Rainsford was talking to his friend Whitney about how he doesn't care about the animals that he kills. The two were on a yacht in the night approaching an island called Ship-Wreck Island. Later on that night Rainsford falls off the ship.
- Exposition
- The conflict of the story occurs when Rainsford falls off the yacht and into the sea and follows the three guns shots that he hears leading him to go to Ship-Wreck Island.
- Conflict
- Rainsford meets General Zaroff and starts to discuss about hunting and what the most dangerous hunt. General Zaroff starts to discuss how the thing he hunts is not an animal. With all the clues Rainsford got he starts to realize what Zaroff is hunting.
- Rising Actions
- I am going to get you Rainsford
- The climax of the story is when Zaroff challenges Rainsford to the most dangerous game which lasts for three days.
- Climax
- As time continues to pass Zaroff cannot find Rainsford and begins to get frustrated with the way things are going. Zaroff begins to start falling for simple traps and starts losing Rainsford tracks. Zaroff gets desperate and uses the hounds to tack Rainsford.
- Falling Actions
- In the end, Rainsford could not let Zaroff continue his ways forcing him to kill Zaroff and then sleeping " on the best bed he has ever slept on.
