- Zitkala-sa was an 8 year old native girl who was taken from her home to go to Quaker Missionary School.
- The girls find her and cut her hair.
- NO, NO, NO, YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME!!!!!!
- As she arrives she notices the girl are wearing tight fitting clothing and all have their hair cut. The school later changed her clothes and she finds herself in the dinner hall. She sits down, but everyone around he was standing.
- I wish my mother was here to help me through this, if only she was here. I miss her! but shes not coming back and i may never see her again.
- Her friend tells her what the school plans to do they plan to cut her long hair. Her mother and family taught her that shingled hair is worn by cowards. When she gets her chance she disappears and goes up the stairs and finds herself in a room but beds and hids. She hears footsteps.
- The girl find her hiding under the bed and pulls her out and drags her down stairs and ties her to a chair cuts her hair . She tries to escape and scream and fight back, but she feels the scissors cutting through her hair.
- She mourns the loss of her hair and the day she was taken from her mother. She moaned from her mother but no one was there to help her through this. She realized she was gonna have to do this alone and that her mother could come save her and comfort her like she did before. Now her her was cut like cowards.
