  • "To be or not to be? ... is it nobler to put up with all the nasty things that luck throws your way or to fight against all those trouble by simply putting an end to them once and for all?"
  • Act 3 Scene i
  • "Get yourself to a convent, at once. Good-bye, Or if you have to get married, marry a fool, since wise men know far too well that you'll cheat on them."
  • "Dear God, please make him normal again!"

  • "Oh but she'll keep her word"

  • Hamlet gives his "To be or not to be" soliloquy where he contemplates whether he could continue with life or end his own life. He is so distraught about the killing of his father and now he is seeking revenge on the person that committed the murderous act.
  • Act 3 Scene ii
  • "Turn on the lights. Get me out of here!"
  • Hamlet's anger and sadness from his father's death caused him to go off on Ophelia. He tells Ophelia that she is deceitful and tells her that she needs to go to a nunnery. Hamlet is unaware that Claudius and Polonius are spying on him and can hear everything he is saying. His words convey his anger and distrust toward Ophelia. Ophelia is convinced that Hamlet has gone mad.
  • Act 3 Scene iii
  • Hamlet discusses with the actors about their play and Horatio to watch King Claudius's reaction during the play. Hamlet sits down to watch the play and talks to Ophelia explaining what every scene means passive-aggressively.
  • Act 3 Scene iiii
  • "Oh my God, what have you done?"
  • During Hamlet's explanation of the play, he is also secretly describing the true events that happened in the kingdom. Explaining this, Claudius gets up and leaves upsettingly.
  • The king feels guilty about what he saw in the play as it reminds him of the way he killed the late King Hamlet. After telling Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to prepare to go to England, Polonius tells Claudius that Hamlet is on his way to see Gertrude. Claudius starts to pray that God can forgive him for his murderous actions so he can go to heaven.
  • "My word fly up, my thoughts remain below"
  • Hamlet is called to Gertrude's chamber as Polonius is hiding after discussing his plan with Gertrude. Hamlet enters the chamber and bad mouths his mother. Suddenly a cry for help is called from a hiding Polonius. Hamlet thinking it's Claudius, stabs the noise revealing it to be Polonius.
  • "Oh I've been killed!"
