macromolecule are very large molecule that's impart to the biophysical process
it has 4 parts, Carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleis acids.
first lets talk about what a carbohydrate is. a carbohydrate is a quick source of energy. this is formed from polymers
examples of carbohydrates is sugars, grains, glucose cellulose, starch (bread, potato's, glycogen), cellose
then there is lipids. lipids are mostly made up of C,H,O. the lipids function is it stores the most energy
building blcoks of lipids is unsaturated fatty acids and glycerol. thats when a molecule has two or 3 carbons that share duble or triple bonds
it also is a long term energy storage, part of the cell membrain, insulation. Ex: fats (saturated), phospholipds oils, wax, staroids.
next is proteins, the function of a portion is enzymes, transport portions, build muscles/bones
the building blocks of protine is amino acids. it provide cell structure, send chemical signals, speed up chemical reactions this is also known as a monomer
the elements in protins are C,H,O,N. examples of protins are insulin, digestive enzymes, collagen, and antibodies
finally there is nucelic acids. a nucleotieds job is to store and passes on genetic information.
the elements that are in it are C, H, O, N,P. it has sugar, phosphate, and nittrogen base. ex: DNA RNA
