Lepers

Jesus is travelling on a road to Jerusalem.

As he was going into a village, ten men with a disease known as leprosy met him. They stood at a distance from him and yelled out in a loud voice.

When he saw them, he said,

Jesus, Master, have pity on us!

Go show yourselves to the priests.

As they went, they were healed from leprosy.

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

“Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Then he said to him,

“Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” 

In this miracle story, Jesus is confronted by 10 men with leprosy. They ask him if he will heal them and he told them to go and see the priests. As they were walking away, they saw that they were being healed. When one of them who happened to be a Samaritan saw that he was healed, he went back to Jesus and praised the lord.

Jesus was grateful that one man had come back to thank him but he was furious that the others did not go with him. Then Jesus told the man to rise and go for his faith has made him well.
