- John WIlkes Booth would meet at Mary Surratt's house to discuss the plan on first, the kidnapping Abraham Lincoln which was later changed to an assassination.
- Since John was a confederate sympathizer he was mad at the loss of the confederacy and would avenge and put an end to the "terror" Abraham Lincoln caused.
- After winning the war and loosing a child, Lincoln was stressed and needed to get himself unstressed. He decided to go watch a play with his wife to celebrate and take some time off.
- John goes on his way to Fords Theater and it would be easy for him since he was an actor and could have access to any part of the theater with no questions asked.
- John Wilkes booth arrived at the theater and made it into the presidents box with his authority in the theater, waited for the crowd to louden and fired his .44-caliber single-shot derringer pistol right into Lincolns head. He quickly jumps off to get out and breaks his leg and runs away.
- Lincoln was rushed to the nearest house and was attempted to be healed. After doing what they could he died a day later and 2 weeks after John was caught after trying to heal his leg in his friends barn. Nearly 1,000 union soldier were on the hunt for John.
