- Donald John Trump is the 45th and current president of the United States.
- China's Prime Minister: Xi Jinping is a Chinese politician who has been the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China since 2012, President of the People's Republic of China since 2013, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission since 2012.
- Compared to exportation of USA's products to China, China was exporting more to USA. China was earning more than USA in their trade. Mr. Trump introduced a tariffs policy and aims to encourage consumers to buy American products by making imported goods more expensive. Moreover, China is required to pay a fee to continue trading with USA.
- This angered China, which resulted to taxes (tariffs) being used on US imports because it would discourage people in China to buy them. Less products were bought and sold between China and USA
- Why is China agreeing to USA's policy? This is happening because trading all around the world mainly uses US dollars, meaning that the want to trade with USA is high. Trading with USA means earning dollars which you can later use again for importation. Another reason is because USA is a big exportation hub and trading with one of the most advanced countries is quite beneficial.
- What next?The White House said it will tackle additional issues in a second, "phase two" deal but analysts said they didn't expect anything concrete anytime soon.In my opinion, I doubt that US will back off any time soon so it would most likely be China giving in
