- In the Cultural Revolution I wanted to get rid of elitism in the different classes in 1961. I wanted this for rural peasants who worked physically and urban workers who did mental work. I didn't like the leaderships in school, the government bureaucracy, the army, intellectual community. So I got rid of the people who didn't have the same view as me and the younger generation helped. I also had the Red Guards attack the traditional values. Millions of students passed through the cities and towns and had physical violence. Later my followers got rid of power. To get more power I had the military take power. I died in 1976 and the war was over.
