- I'm a farmer for almost 45 years and this is the worst and the longest dry season I've encountered. This is impossible!
- Whatever it is, we need explanation and solutions to that. We'll listen and do whatever you say.

- Well, let me explain for you to clearly understand what is drought is and its solutions.

- The story begins at one particular farm in Aurora, wherein there were farmers complaining about the continuous hot weather in their town.
- The farmers went to the baranggay hall to talk to their Captain. The Captain discusses the hydrometeorological hazard which is the drought that affects the means of living of the people in their town such as agriculture, livestock, and etc.

- Drought is defined as a prolonged shortage of available water, primarily due to insufficient rain and other precipitation or because exceptionally high temperatures and low humidity cause a drying of agriculture and a loss of stored water resources. Drought can have a serious impact on health, agriculture, economies, energy and the environment. According to National Geographic Society, droughts are the second-most costly weather events after hurricanes.
- In communities where drought conditions exist, officials may recommend water conservation measures to restrict use of water. We can store rain water to prevent droughts. We should plant more trees to avoid droughts. Water supply to the agricultural fields in the parched regions can be increased by rainwater harvesting, canal irrigation and building contour bunds. Conserving water is particularly important when drought strikes, but it’s also a good habit to be in at all times for environmental reasons. Try to do at least one thing each day to conserve water.

Those are simple ways but has powerful effect that can help to prevent drought. So as a human being, conserve not only water, but also energy and others that needs conservation.
