- It was Christmas eve. The Wood slaves were dressed in their finest clothes. Ann, a 16-year-old girl was enjoying playing with her friends in the field. Though Tilda would scold her and remind her that she belonged to the big house Ann would laugh at her scoldings. All the morning the slaves were digging a big ditch and filling it with logs.
- Climax
- That breakfast all the slaves were enjoying the best food they had all year. The slaves were munching down all the food that they can. That made all their masters entertained. When the ball started Fred and Ann were dancing. After a while, Ann went to fred to remind them that They needed to escape before morning.
- falling action
- Ann snuck at the back of the kitchen to meet up with Sis, Tom, Fannie, Fred, and Nat. They finally left on their journey to freedom. They took a rest at Ol' Solomon's barn to get some sleep and food.
- resolution
- They continued on their journey but suddenly the sounds of horses galloping in the distance. Ann knew that they couldn't outrun the hunters. Finally, they caught up.
- The hunters pointed the gun at Ann but so was she pointing the gun at them. She told them that they can go ahead and shoot her because she knew that they wouldn't be able to sell her if they did. they then went back for more backup.
- At last, they finally found their way to the underground railroad. freedom was theirs, they reached Philadephia, and they sang "Here in Philadephia We'll be no slaves no more."
