Zeus Intervenes

Zeus saved his son from destruction that he might not fall by the ships 'sterns.

I have saved you from being killed so early in this battle

Zeus gave the greater glory to Hector son of Priam, who was first to spring towards the wall of the Greeks.

TrojansPlan to Break Wall of The Greeks

Trojans up, up break the wall of the Greeks

Then Patroclus drew near to Achilles with tears welling from his eyes, as from some spring whose crystal stream falls over the ledges of a highprecipice.

Why are you crying like a little child?

Patroclus Crying

Sarpedon Dead

Patroclus then aimed in his turn, and the spear sped not from his handin vain, for he hit Sarpedon just where the midriff surrounds the ever-beating heart.

Sarpedon is finally dead

Hector Down

Achilles strike him as he was coming on towards him, and the point of his spear went right through the fleshy part of the neck, but it did not sever his windpipe so that he could still speak. Hector fell headlong, and Achilles vaunted over him

You are a fool Hector for I am more mightierthan he.

His mother tore her hair, and flung her veil from her with a loud cry as she looked upon her son. His father made piteous moan, and throughout the city the people fell to weeping and wailing.

My son is dead!

oh no!!
