- Hey mom! I was wondering if you could tell me a little about insurance and what they do.
- Sure! Lets take a seat and I can tell you about insurance.
- What are each of them for? That seems like a lot of types.
- Well, I's day that everyone should know and eventually have three main types of insurance. Life, Health, and Property insurance.
- Well, Life insurance is insurance for when someone passes away. Life insurance is important because the person in the contract's family will benefit from their insurance, usually in the form of a payment.
- I would guess that we spend between $100 and $150 a month on life insurance
- So, what's health insurance?
- Health insurance is what we use when we have something like a surprise doctors appointment. It reimburses us when we have a hospital visit because of an injury or if someone is sick, so its a good thing to have.
- Since we have a family of four, our health insurance is usually around $1,400 a month.
- Now, Property insurance is the one that you will see more when you get a little older. Property insurance is for things like cars, which have auto insurance for if the insured person gets into an accident, and home insurance, which protects your possessions in case of an incident like a fire.
- Most auto insurance is about $70 a month and most home insurance is around $1,600 in Georgia.
