  • That potato famine was rough back in Ireland hopefully America is better.
  • America will be better then both of those situations that's all that matters.
  • But the politics in Germany are much worse then what you went through
  • The Irish
  • You Irish are all slobs and drunks, and you're no better then the slaves!
  • No were not, We do jobs you're to chicken to do!
  • The Germans
  • Thank You for taking us in to your lovely country and your complements.
  • You Germans are alright, you came with money in hand, taught us about kindergarten, and took low paying jobs that we wouldn't take.
  • In the 1840's through the 1860s over 4 million immigrants settled in America. Over 3 million of the immigrants were either German or Irish. Most of the immigrants were fleeing political or economic issues.
  • Most of the Irish that immigrated to America settled in towns and cities in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Irish woman worked as house servants while the men worked in unskilled jobs like, canal and road building. Many Americans didn't like the Irish because they isn't come with money and were seen as slobs and drunks
  • Many of the Germans that arrived already had some money that they could use. They settled out in the rural areas in Midwest- Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Many took low paying jobs. they also introduced Kindergarten. They were much more preferred over the Irish for having money in hand, taking low paying jobs, among other things.
