- Sun Wukong or The Monkey King is a monkey that was born from a magical rock on top of a mountain of fruit and berries (Mountain Huaguo). Wukong was blessed with superhuman strength. Once he hatchedout of the rock, he already had the ability to walk and speak.
- Wukong after realizing his mortality, he wanted to achieve immortality so he devoted himself to a Buddhist Monk where he got his uniform and staff. He also met new companions; Zhu Bajie, a strong-maned pig who can talk and Sha Wujing who is also a disciple of the Buddhist.
- Through all of Wukong's noble deeds and dedication towards the Buddhist's (Tang) teachings, Sun Wukong eventually achieved enlightenment and put an end to his angry, greedy and envious tendencies.
- Buddha, after seeing Wukong's achievement, invited him back into Heaven. HOWEVER, he was assigned the lowest task in Heaven, which was guarding the Jade Emperor's horses.
- He realized he was only a monkey so the other gods wouldn't see him as a peer. He decided to eat all the Peaches of Immortality and rebelled against Heaven.
- Jade Emperor reported to Buddha about Wukong's actions and Buddha punished him banishing him from Heaven and putting him under a mountain for 500 years.
