- I agree that the Taliban are bad people, but I do not think that killing and violence are ever okay. Jesus taught his followers that we should be kind even to our enemies and find other ways to guide people to the right path.
- Yes, but the Church also says that serving a just cause validates violence, because it is representing what is right.
- even though I agree with your cause, I truly do not believe that a Christian should ever cause harm to another. We should accept violence from others in order to not perpetuate more harm.
- but what about the innocent people there that have no one to protect them? Jesus did not condemn soldiers, and the Church believes that soldiers following a just leader is okay.
- I do think Christians should stand up for a just cause, but through nonviolent action. It is never okay to kill, even under a just cause.
- I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. But realistically we are not Jesus, and have to understand that violence happens no matter what.
- and I believe that no one has ever truly tried pacifism, and it is in fact possible.
