  • From an opening birds eye view pan of the city of Weston, the camera then zooms to a (MS) showing Elizabeth and Suzie standing underneath an umbrella in front of the school appearing a bit frustrated as they wait for David to walk out. when David appears from the school the camera fades in to show his annoyed attitude from a detention as he walks towards a camera representing a (CVP) There are loud claps of thunder and the sound of heavy rain hitting their umbrella.
  • Elizabeth and Suzie cross the bridge, camera zooms in (CU) they appear frightened. Elizabeth turns and notices David on the railing looking down beneath the bridge, the camera zooms to an (ECU) showing Elizabeth looking worried and annoyed, she leaves Suzie with the umbrella, the camera switches to an (ECU) of David who seems unaffected. the camera pans and tracks the debris he is seeing under the bridge. There are claps of thunder, the sound of the river including the debris hitting the bridge.
  • Elizabeth finishes a phone call with the McBrides, as she sets the phone down the camera zooms in on the phone and returns to an (ECU) of Elizabeth, she appears worried. the camera maintains the same position as she walks away, the phone rings again and the setting becomes a still photo as the frame starts to fade out to show the phone on the table and a curious look on her face. There's a constant noise of rain hitting the windows
  • Elizabeth washes dishes the camera zooms in on her hands, a flash of light forces her to look up, the camera follows as a (CVP). looking out the window a bolt of lightning flashes, the camera turns to show an (ECU) of her face, she appears frightened. the camera cuts to an (LS) of the footbridge then zooming to a (MLS) showing the footbridge being flooded by water. the scenes (FPS) slows down and the camera turns back towards Elizabeth zooming to a (ECU) of her face then cutting away before she reacts. There is thunder, rain hitting the windows and dishes clinking.
  • Elizabeth attempts to walk Daisy outside, the camera pans left to right representing (CVP) which shows that the street is completely flooded. the camera then shows the dog through a (CU) and appearing eager it pulls towards the door. The camera cuts away then turns showing the door. The scene re-opens with the (CU) of the door inside and in seconds open and shut Elizabeth appearing exhausted while the frame fades out showing dog. There are thunder claps, heavy rain, the sound created by the overflowing river and the slam of the door.
  • David and Elizabeth walk outside. The camera follows the beam of light panning left to right, when the light is shone on the car the frame becomes a picture and slowly fades out showing Elizabeth and David watching. the view becomes a (CU) as they both appear confused as they look towards each other, the camera pans again left to right representing a (CVP) and regains the focus back on the car doing a 360 view around then in split second refers back to David and Elizabeth (ECU)There are thunder claps, heavy rain and the sound created by the overflowing river
  • The camera shows an (MLS) of David and Elizabeth standing by the window and slowly pans towards the window, focus as a (CVP). then it switches to a (CU) as they appear mesmerized. In the background there is a slight cracking sound changing their look - the camera remains focused on their faces . As the window cracks he camera shows an (MS) from behind, they disappear from the shot as the water pushes them. There is rain hitting the windows , rushing water and glass shattering formed from the explosion of the window.
  • Desperate to get into the rafters Elizabeth and David pile a chair onto a dresser. The camera shows a (CU) and pans up showing the items stacked then returning to Suzie climbing up and onto the chair with the help of Elizabeth. The camera changes to show a (CU) of there faces showing determination then zooming back to David who is standing in the water and watching, he appears confident. The camera shows an (MS) before he walks from the camera sight to join the climb. There are sounds of sloshing and rain pounding the window
  • Following many of David's jokes, the camera shows a (ECU) of Elizabeth as she appears to be annoyed. the camera switches to an (MS) showing all three characters and the disbelief of the situation. The camera pans towards Elizabeth as she looks at her reflection in the water. Sounds of rain hitting the windows and continuous jokes by David in the background
  • The camera focuses on David as he makes a periodic check of the water level. As Elizabeth forms her idea the camera shifts to a (CU) showing her forgiving look. She states her theory and the camera moves as a (CVP) showing the surroundings. David interrupts and the camera shifts to an (MS) then as he points, the camera pans to the roof showing the holes. There are sounds of rain and chimes to express the idea moment.
  • Elizabeth holds the flashlight and watches anxiously as David dives down to get a hatchet. As David dives into the water the camera switches to a (CU) from underwater. A dim light shines from the flashlight above. The camera then pans back up to the beam where Elizabeth stands looking very worried. Splashing sound as David dives into the water, sounds of heavy rain hitting the roof.
  • Elizabeth attempts to break through the roof with the hatchet. The hatchet head breaks off and falls into the water. Elizabeth, Suzie and David watch with disappointment as the hatchet head sinks deeper into the water - camera cuts to an (ECU) of the hatchet head sinking. cracking sound as hatchet head breaks followed by a splashing sound when the hatchet hits the water.

  • David pulls a wood beam from underneath the mattress. The camera shows an (MS) of Elizabeth and David leaning the wood towards the roof, as they make their first swing, the camera pans towards the roof while they continuously bang at the roof. as they make the hole the camera switches to a (CU) showing the excitement from Elizabeth and David then fading to an (DECU) as the hole reflects in their eyes. There are sounds of continuous banging and steady rain hitting the roof
  • Elizabeth climbs through the hole in the roof. As she climbs to the peak the camera shifts to a (CVP) and pans left to right while focused moving up the roof. At the peak the camera maintains its position and views three figures who are waving. The camera fades to a (MLS) as Elizabeth waves. immediately the camera slowly fades through angles until it show an (ELS) while Elizabeth continues to move back towards the hole. There are sounds of rain hitting the roof and rushing water from the currant.
  • As they tried to bring Daisy to the roof peak, the belt David used as a collar snaps and daisy slides down the roof. from a (CVP) camera shows Daisy splashing into the water. An (MS) camera perspective follows beneath the water and the sounds are drowned out until Daisy resurfaced again. The camera switches back towards Suzie in a (DVP) as she has her head stuffed against David's chest before the camera black's out enhancing the moment. There are sounds of splashing, rushing water and despret panting from daisy.
  • all three characters watch dreadfully as the camera follows the house voyaging by as it shows a (MS) of the three figures passing then showing a camera angle of their perspective as they look towards elizabeth, david and suzie hopeless and continuing to look back until there sight was interrupted by the rivers bend then forming to a black enhacet scene. There are sound of rushing water and scraping from the house's foundation.

  • Elizabeth drops into the water and focuses on grabbing the tree. The camera is presented in (CVP) as she swirls around in the current and grabs the tree looking back towards David and Suzie and zooms to a (MS) following them as the reach the tree and grab Elizabeth's hand, closing to a (CU), they appear terrified looking towards Elizabeth. There are sounds of rushing water and splashes including the heavy breathing from each characters as the transferred to the tree.
  • All three characters watch their house float by with disbelief as the camera shows an (MS) then regrouped back to a (LS) to show the house heading downstream. The camera then shows a (LS) of the house and when moved around the bend shows the children looking towards the disappearance of their house. The camera fades back towards them regaining their emotion. There are sound of banging as the house got pulled through debris in the river and the rushing water.
  • The characters remained on the tree for a long period of time. A boat controlled by two man passed. The camera shows a (CVP) panning the boat's left to right movement through the debris then resting beside the tree. The camera zooms to a (CU) as the man appears excited, then the camera fades out as they board the children then continues to fade to an (ELS) to briefly represent everything they survived before the boat begins the move to land and the scene is cut. There are motor sounds, rushing water and splashes present to the moment
  • As they are seated into the police car. The camera focuses on Elizabeth as a (CU) she appears happy and grateful. The camera zooms out to a (ES) and as it fades the camera shows the boat moving around the people standing ,the houses gone, the piles of debris and one big flooded valley. As the camera is showing all the devastation, Elizabeth reflects through a meaningful statement "we were as safe as houses"
