- Regression
- Regression is another example of one of Freud's defense mechanism. Regression is the process of behaving as you would at a younger state in life. In this example, you are hugging the dog tightly in order to stay less stressed like you would do as a child.

- This is an example of one of Freud's defense mechanisms called sublimation. Sublimation is where you redirect your feelings to something elses. In this case, the man is nervous for an upcoming test and is nervously eating food to try and calm their nerves.

- Intellectualization
- This is an example of another one of Freud's defense mechanism called intellectualization. Rationalization is where someone justifies their actions that would be viewed as negative with the assumption that you are doing for the greater good.
- I am very sad but I need to ensure that their memories are preserved.
