- The Sepoys were Indians who began to join British armies located in India. They would help kings to fight for power in India. Overtime, the British would take control.
- Positive Effects
- The British East India Company controlled British trade in India. This company soon gained political control over places like Bangladesh, Southern India, and Northern India. The company was led by several British army officers.
- Negative Effects
- There's nothing left.. what am I gonna eat?
- The British forbade India from trading on its own with other countries. India was then forced to produce raw materials for only Britain and to only buy finished products from Britain.
- Indians Rebel
- One positive effect for India is that schools and colleges were founded.
- One negative effect is that cash crops were sold which made the small farmers not able to produce enough food for themselves.
- By 1850 most Indians hated that Great Britain took over their country. Indians became to be angry because Britain controlled all of their useful land.
