  • People who lived in Dublin lived in small homes along the streets. The average sized family in a household was 3-5 people that includes the parents and the kids.

  • People who lived within the town walls worked at a trade or a craft. The castle was the centre of activity and the trades and crafts people serviced its needs.
  • The Irish lords/Kings were in charge of controlling the law. Even though the majority of the people in Dublin were peasants.
  • Some hobbies during this time were music, art, folklore, and sport associated with Ireland and the Irish people.
  • Dublin was a dirty place. There were no sewers and rubbish was thrown into the streets. People did not have baths or showers regularly or even washed their clothes. There were rats and mice everywhere.
