- We learnt about Marcus Garvey, did you know that he was born in St. Ann's Bay on August 17, 1887 and the last of 11 children
- Interesting, did you know he suffered two strokes and died in June of 1940 and was buried in London but was brought back to Jamaica and buried in the National Heroes Park?
- Oh I didn't know that, maybe it is going to be taught in the next class, did you know In 1914 he started the Universal Negro Improvement Association. The UNIA, which grew into an international organisation, encouraged self-government for black people worldwide?
- Oh yes, Miss taught us that last class, did you know that was Jamaica's first National Hero?
- I knew that from Primary School, did you know that Marcus Mosiah Garvey, has been recognised as the first black man to awaken the dignity of the black race in Jamaica, North America and Africa.
- No I didn't, well did you know that he wasn't only honoured by being awarded the order of national hero but also had statues made based off of him in areas such as national heroes park?
