The Battle of Yorktown would be the last major battle of the American Revolution -both American and French troops bombarded the British making them surrender. Soon after British leaders began to negotiate a peace treaty.

A total of 25,700 Americans died in the war, 1,400 remained missing, and 8,200 were wounded.
