  • Psychologists would study this issue by looking at how certain mindsets have changed due to the diverse climate people are living in these days. Thanks to globalisation, people are starting to notice and drive their attention to cultural differences. Globalisation also influences how an individual behaves.
  • Factors that psychologists will look at is how globalisation changes our attitude and beliefs. Especially in schools, learning is something that is affected by globalisation, not only based on what we learn, it is also how individuals learn as well. Cultural globalisation affects the sharing and trading of cultural beliefs, traditions, and ideas, and these factors are something that affects our attitude and beliefs towards certain things. It has also changed an individual’s perception on things. We see this when globally people deem a certain behaviour bad and other behaviours good, creating norms and values amongst individuals.

  • An approach valid to look over to show that these factors are influenced by globalisation’s effects is how B.F. Skinner believed that behaviours can indeed be influenced since humans tend to study observable behaviour more often than internal mental events. Skinner's theory of classical conditioning was way too simple for complex human behaviour. He believed that the best way to understand behaviour is to look at the causes of an action and the consequences of it. This approach was known as operant conditioning.

  • Skinner said that there are three ways a human can be influenced, and the most valid way is through reinforcers: Responses from the environment increase the probability of a behaviour being repeated, and this can be either positive or negative. Humans are complex, so anything can reinforce their behaviour. I think globalisation indeed does influence behaviour, and the way it does it is the reaction of other peers. For instance, if you wear a certain brand and get a positive response from multiple people, you are likely to wear that outfit again. So when you like certain things like foods, music, and clothes, you are encouraged to wear things like these because, globally, it is something that is deemed good. Negative reinforcement is used to stop a certain behaviour. In this case, for instance, a topic everyone is aware of is the Palestine-Israel war.

  • Every time there are people who are supporting Palestine, they are praised because, as of now, a lot of sympathy is regarded towards them, something recognized globally because of digital globalisation. However, when there is someone supporting Israel, society turns to them; in some form, this is negative reinforcement to stop this certain behaviour. Digital globalisation deems what behaviour is good and what behaviour is bad, and it is reinforced using operant conditioning, which is why psychologists will look at these aspects using this approach.
