- Black people have no reason to be acting this way! Only one person was killed!
- When Black people protested police killing of a Black person, White people only focused on the destruction caused by Black people and not the history that caused Black people to feel so abused.
- Lots of black people were killed in things called lynchings, which were brutal murderings of a black person by 2 or more white people.
- Molly Turner was a black woman who was killed by a group of white people. This is how she died.
- What are you doing here? you're coming with me.
- The mob burned Molly's body and then shot her repeatedly so that she was no longer recognizable. Lynchings like this took place consistently after the Civil War.
- Millions of Black people fled the South to escape the terrors of Lynching.
- Stop right there!
- Because cheap Black labor was the key to the South's financial success, White Southerners were unhappy that Black people were fleeing to the North and did everything they could to stop them.

- As a result, many Black people were brought back to the fields by White people, but that didn't stop Black migration.
- In a desperate attempt to stop Black migration, White Southerners stopped all trains from traveling North, even though this prevented the South from helping transport supplies needed in World War One.
