Act Four:
What Why!
You can't eat or sleep, as it is not good enough for you.
Petruchio arrives in Padua to come to visit his friend, Hortensio, who is a suitor for Bianca. Petruchio then meets Katherina, who is Bianca's older sister, and wants to marry her. Baptista approves for the marriage to go ahead, but Katherina does not want to.
Act Five:
Hello, Daughter and Petruchio.
Hello, Baptista
While everyone prepares for the wedding, the disguised tutors Hortensio and Lucentio compete for Bianca's love. Katherina unwillingly waits for her husband at the church, but he comes late dressed in crazy clothes and causes a scene. They then both leave.
Act Five continued:
My wife is the most obedient!
When Katherina reaches her new home, she is refused food and sleep by Petruchio, as he wants to 'tame' her. Katherina finally submits and agrees to follow Petruchio.
Katherina and Petruchio eventually go to Padua to meet Katherina's father. Horteniso, who was rejected by Bianca, married a wealthy widow. Tranio, still dressed as Lucentio, has convinced Baptista to let Lucentio marry Bianca. While a school teacher talks to Baptista, Lucentio secretly organises a wedding with Bianca, which they carry out.
Baptista eventually finds out, and they confess the whole plan. Although, Baptista is not angry, and has a feast to celebrate. Petruchio devises a scheme to see which wife is the most obedient. Bianca and the widow fail to come, but Katherina comes, and becomes the most obedient wife.
