- The exposition of this story is that the White family finds out about the monkey's paw and they are intrigued and interested about it. Mr. White want to keep the paw.
- Falling Action
- I wish for that thing at the door to go away!
- The rising action is whenever Mr. White wishes for 200 pounds. Then his son goes off to work and dies, he was caught in the machinery. Mr. White and Mrs. White are shocked and upset.
- Resolution
- NOOO! My boy I will never see him ever again!
- The climax is when Mrs. White reminds Mr. White that they have another wish left. And Mrs. White asks Mrs. White to wish her son back alive.
- It's Herbert! Let him in, let my boy in!
- The falling action of the story is when the White's here knocking at the door and Mr. White uses his last wish to wish away the thing knocking at the door.
- The resolution or ending of the story is when Mr. and Mrs. White go outside and find nobody outside of their door.
