- People were divided into three classes based on their mone, the 1st estate which had about 1000 poeple and was the richest, the 2nd estate which also had about 1000 poeple and was the 2nd richest, and then the 3rd estste which had 250,000,000 and was the poorest.
- Storming the Bastile
- The King, Louis XVI, would spend a lot of money on his palace and his wife, Marie Antoinette, with things like dresses and fashion, causing them to be broke and taxxing the poor.
- The New France

- The 3rd Estate was fed up and damnded to speak with the leaders of the other estates. each estate only had one vote so the 3rd Estate always drew the short straw. The 3rd estate's representative ends up getting kicked out so the National assembly met up in a tennis court and made an oath to establish a new constituition for France.

- Louid XV (the king) didn't want a writtem constetution so he planned on using military force on the national assembly. When the news got out on July 14 1789, now known as Frances Independance day, the national assembly stormed the bastile where the king would use as a prison.
- France became a legaslative assembly. They limited the kings power, church lands were devided and sold to peasants, they made it to here chuch officials had to be elected by the people and were paid salaries by the government, which 2/3 of chuch officials left France because of this, and any specials privleges were abolished. The legeslative assembly failed in france and a new group called The Convention took over causing terror to France. were both beheaded.
- They believed that if the as long as the royal family lived the old regime could be fixed so in 1793 the king and queen were both beheaded. The reign of terror lasted from 1793-1794. During that time 17,000 people were beheaded for resisting the revolution. During this time Nepolean was making a name for himself. He ends up reforming France and starts the Nepoleonic code, which is equality of all citizens.
