- The people of the Third Estate (97% of the population, not privledged), wanted change. The king was not helping them, and they were paying the majority of the taxes even though they were the poorest. They wanted equality, so the estates all met and tried to create a more equal voting system.
- Yeah!! We can call it the National Assembly!!
- I don't know, I don't want MY power taken away - 2nd Estate memeber
- We were locked out!! There needs to be a big change!
- Then, the Third Estate was locked out of their meeting room, so instead they met on a tennis court and pledged to stay there until they had a new constitution. Members from all three estates voted for the constitution.
- I know what we need! Lets break into this tennis court and stay until we have a new constitution!!
