- My mom said that I could decide what religion I wanted to be once I was older, but I wasn’t sure if I should tell my friends this. What if my friends think having two religions is just, well, weird?
- I’d always enjoyed celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah, saying grace before eating meals, and praying before going to sleep, and I never questioned my religion at home, but something about telling other people made it feel more real, like whatever I said now was going to be true forever.
- Plus, I had always been fond of yoga and meditation, since I took a yoga after school class. But then I found out meditation and yoga are part of Buddhism. Could I be three religions? That would be too much! I was relieved when my mom told me that Buddhism is a philosophy or way of life, but not a religion I had to choose.
