- Claudia has two brothers, the oldest sibling is called Marcus and the youngest is called Sextus. Claudia is the middle child. Her dad owns a bakery and she loves to help out occasionally. Claudias mum taught her to sow and she made rugs. The family also has a dog called Pollux.
- Claudia writes on her papyrus everyday. She likes to write about key events that happen in her life and all the exciting bits to. Claudia also writes about all the people she meets and about her experience when the Pompeii volcano erupted. There were lots of earthquakes in Pompeii recently.
- Claudia and her dad went to the market to go and get some groceries. But then Claudia suddenly spotted an awful sight. She saw a boy getting sold for slavery to her best friends dad. The boy was a young handsome briton. She tried asking questions about the briton to her best friend but she told her she didn't know anything. She later found out some horrible news the young briton (who's name was Auegnus) was fighting in the next battle in the Colleseum.
- Claudia had never ever gone to a fighting match at the colleseum she just couldn't look at all the blood and all the fighting. But since her boy best friend was fighting she had to go but she just couldn't bare the thought of her best friend dying right in front of her. The young briton surprised everyone by getting away from the beast without dying. But because of that he had to fight again but all her cared about was to find his sister so he left Pompeii to try and fins his sister.
- A few months passed and then another earthquake happened but except this time was why worse. Lots of ash started to cover Pompeii. The Volcano was erupting!!!! Claudia and her family tried to leave and run as far away from the volcano as possible. Something went through Claudias mind because she suddenly jumped off the carriage. She lost her family and didnt know where they went.
- After the volcano finished having its hissy fit her family came back to Pompeii and she reunited with her family and the slaves. THE END(I tried as best as I could to remember the book as much as I could so sorry if this isn't what you remember)
